Q. Can Australians legally use and own Segway Scooter or hoverboard?
Individuals in Australia are free to use or own a hoverboard. The Government imposed a permanent ban on sellers who didn’t comply with the stipulated Australian Safety Standards. Since Perth Hoverboards fully comply with Safety Standards of Australia, our hoverboards are completely safe.
Q. Are hoverboards risky?
Not at all…At Perth Hoverboards we have ensured that our hoverboards are totally safe for the users. We are UL2272 certified, which shows that our hoverboards comply with Australia Safety Standards. So, don’t worry, our hoverboards are totally safe.
Q. Is hoverboard riding difficult?
No, riding a hoverboard is rather simple. You can compare it with riding a bicycle. It will take you about 60 minutes to understand how the hoverboard functions. Our hoverboards are self balancing, so learning to ride won’t take you long.
Q. What is the average learning time for hoverboards?
While learning greatly depends on each individuals, the average time for learning hoverboard is roughly 1 to 2 hours. You’ll take 5 minutes to be able to stand on the hoverboard comfortably. From then, it will take another half an hour to 45 minutes to learn to ride. Initially, you must try on a flat carpet and make sure that there are no objects lying around in the room and no sharp corners. Once you’ve learnt the basics, you can then move to hardwood floor.
Q. Can hoverboards be used in rains or snow?
Our hoverboards are water resistant and have the IP54 rating. So, while you can use the hoverboards in dusty conditions and in sparing water splashes, you must avoid puddles and riding during extreme weather conditions.
Q. How long will it take to fully charge the batteries? What’s the average ride on a single charge?
The batteries will be fully charged in 2 to 3 hours and can give you a ride of 18 to 20kms on a single charge. Make sure that you do not charge the batteries for more than 3 hours, else the batteries may likely be damaged due to overcharging.
Q. Can kids be allowed to ride Hoverboards?
It is advised that kids under 16 be accompanied by adults when riding hoverboard. We’ve put minimum weight limit at 20 kgs. This is for efficient weight balancing. So, our hoverboards are safe, however these are meant for adults. For kids under 10, we have a comprehensive range of products.
Q. Can I ride hoverboards on slopes?
The powerful mechanism of our hoverboard gives you a smooth ride even on slopes. Also, when descending our hoverboards allow for speed control so you can climb down safely and easily.
Q. Does the hoverboard have any suspension for absorbing shock?
No, there is no suspension mechanism. But the strong wheels give you an effortless ride on roads with cracks and bumps of upto 1inch. Slowly as you master the art of riding, you’ll start using your knees to absorb shock.
Q. How do you accept the payment? When will I receive the hoverboard delivery?
Payment can be made through all major debit and credit cards. Perth Hoverboards offers flexible “after pay option, wherein you can pay in 4 equal installments. You may be subjected to identification check in case you avail the after pay option.

Q. What about the returns?
Perth Hoverboards products are covered with 12 month warranty for manufacturing defects. If you receive our product in damaged condition or in case of a manufacturing flaw, simply return it to us within 30 days. More information on returns policy can be found in terms and conditions.
